The rules of the house
Terms of Service
Draft. These terms are a working draft provided for launch preparation. The operator details and contact below are final; the operator should still have the legal wording reviewed by counsel before relying on it.
1. Who we are
Realms of Elynia ("the Game", "we", "us") is an online browser game operated by Palvelureppu Oy (business ID 3603977-5), Ainontie 10 A 3, 01630 Vantaa, Finland ("the Operator"). You can reach us at support@realmsofelynia.com.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian permits your use and any purchases.
- You are responsible for keeping your nickname and password secure and for all activity under your account.
- One person may not operate accounts to abuse game systems (for example, funnelling resources between accounts). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
3. Conduct
You agree not to cheat, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, use bots or automation, harass other players, post unlawful or abusive content in chat, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems. We may moderate chat and remove content or accounts at our discretion.
4. Aurei and virtual items
- Aurei is the Game's premium currency. Aurei and all in-game items are virtual goods that exist only inside the Game. They have no real-money value.
- Aurei are a limited licence to access game features. They are non-transferable between players and cannot be exchanged, redeemed, or cashed out for money or anything of monetary value.
- Purchases of Aurei are final and non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law. Under EU consumer law, by starting to use purchased digital content immediately you acknowledge you may lose the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.
- The marketplace between players, including buy orders, uses in-game gold only. At no point can Aurei, items, or gold be sold for real money through the Game.
- We may change prices, package contents, odds, or discontinue virtual goods. If we discontinue the Game, unused Aurei may be forfeited to the extent permitted by law.
5. The Patron's Seal
- The Patron's Seal is a thirty-day patronage bought inside the Game with Aurei. It is a virtual good under section 4: it has no real-money value, it cannot be transferred, exchanged or cashed out, and the Aurei spent on it are final and non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law. The seal starts the moment it is pressed, so the digital content is used immediately.
- It is not a subscription. Nothing renews and no recurring charge is ever taken. A seal lasts thirty days from the moment it is pressed; pressing another before it ends adds thirty days, up to sixty days in hand at once.
- While a seal is warm it grants honours and conveniences: a title, a portrait frame, a plaque of your own words on your character page, a lighter market tax on what you sell, more places on the market than the ordinary limit allows and a memory of your recent searches, bulk selling and disenchanting, and potions from your own stores drunk for you before a fight, a dungeon, a raid march or an arena challenge. It never grants attributes, drop rates or energy, and it wins no duel for you: an arena defender always fights at full health, and the draughts are ones any player can drink by hand.
- When a seal ends, the rented benefits stop automatically. Anything the seal granted permanently (such as a portrait) stays yours; your plaque text and settings are kept and return with your next seal.
- Your plaque, title, frame and patron's medal are visible to other players. Section 3 applies to them: we may clear or hide a plaque that breaks these terms, without refunding the seal.
- We may adjust the conveniences a seal grants, add to them, or retire some; we will not shorten a seal you have already paid for. If your account is restricted for breach of these terms, or the Aurei used for a seal are reversed after a payment dispute, the seal may end early.
6. Loot boxes and chance
Some purchasable items (such as the Imperial Cache) yield a random outcome. The probability tables for these outcomes are disclosed in the Game's premium screen and do not change without notice on that screen. Outcomes are determined server-side at the time of purchase. Because outcomes are randomised, we cannot guarantee any particular item from a chance-based purchase beyond the stated guarantees.
7. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. You agree to Stripe's terms when paying. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable VAT where required. A payment dispute or chargeback may result in the associated Aurei being reversed and your account being restricted pending resolution.
8. Availability & no warranty
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and limit our liability to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be signalled in the Game. Continued play after changes take effect means you accept them. You may stop playing at any time. We may suspend or end your access for breach of these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence. Consumer disputes may also be referred to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta).
